These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the use of services provided by AstraScan (“we”, “our”, “us”). By engaging our services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services

AstraScan provides services including, but not limited to:

  • 3D scanning

  • Reverse engineering

  • CAD modelling

  • A-surface development

  • Design and engineering services

The scope of each project will be defined and agreed upon with the client prior to commencement.

2. Quotes and pricing

All quotes are provided based on the information available at the time.

  • Quotes are valid for a limited period unless otherwise stated

  • Additional work outside the agreed scope may incur extra charges

  • Any variations will be communicated and approved before proceeding

3. Payment terms

  • Payment terms will be specified in the quotation or invoice

  • We may require a deposit before commencing work

  • Final deliverables may be withheld until full payment is received

4. Client responsibilities

The client agrees to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information

  • Supply necessary materials, parts, or data as required

  • Ensure they have the right to provide any items submitted for scanning or reverse engineering

5. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • The client retains ownership of their original materials and data

  • AstraScan retains ownership of methodologies, processes, and tools used

Upon full payment:

  • The client is granted rights to use the final deliverables for their intended purpose

6. Confidentiality

We treat all client data and project information as confidential.

We will not disclose any information without consent, except where required by law.

7. Data handling and storage

We take reasonable steps to protect project data.

  • Data retention periods may vary depending on the project

  • Upon request, data can be stored exclusively on Australian-based servers for sensitive projects

8. Accuracy and limitations

While we strive for high accuracy:

  • Results may vary depending on object condition, environment, and scanning constraints

  • It is the client’s responsibility to verify suitability for their intended application

9. Deliverables

Deliverables may include:

  • Mesh files (STL, OBJ)

  • Neutral CAD files (STEP, IGES, Parasolid)

  • Parametric CAD models (if agreed)

Formats and level of detail will be defined in the project scope.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law:

  • AstraScan is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

  • Our liability is limited to the value of the services provided

11. Cancellations and changes

  • Project cancellations may incur costs for work already completed

  • Changes to scope may affect timelines and pricing

12. Third-party services

We are not responsible for the performance or outcomes of third-party services used in conjunction with our deliverables.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
